The European road safety pilot project aimed at improving safety of vulnerable road users starts on the 20th August
2016 for a duration of three months. The multi award winning collision avoidance system and its new “My Alert”
pre-collision big data software will be reviewed on LGV`s and buses across Europe through a variety of independent
companies, government and transport authorities.
The pre-collision big data software “My Alert” will help recognize places with a large concentration of pedestrian, cyclist
and motorcyclist anti-collision alerts generated by the Cycle Safety Shield device.
The application will allow to analyse what causes the potentially dangerous situations by recording all the data detected by the
system, easily extracting Google Street view in the designated locations and producing detailed reports for the end user.
This would enable urban planners to rectify the problem before an incident happens, improve traffic planning and support
decision making on cycling and pedestrian infrastructure. Safer roads would help cities to increase cycling and walking
modal share and support the development of sustainable modes of transport.
On completion of the pilot project, the results will be analysed by independent research organisations
in respect to the current road safety situation, causes and possible solutions in the partner cities and
the summarised report will be published in December 2016.
